Made a trip to the eagles nest this morning!

I finally broke out this morning, and made a trip to the eagles nest! Guess it is still a little to early for them to be back, or maybe they where out and about down the river some where.

The land owners have been doing some brush clearing between the rail road, and out to the nest just all along in their! The fence line has really grown up over the summer months.

I didn't stay long at the eagles nest this morning! So I made a trip out to Black Rock Park which is on the west side of lake Buchanan! The lake is down real low I think this is the first time that I have seen it this low. The lake is down 36 feet and the last time it was that low was in the early 60's!


I guess it will be another week before I tempt to make a trip to the nest again to see what's going on! You can contact me if you would like to be updated on the eagles.

Planning a trip to the eagles nest soon!

Breaking out this next Monday morning for a road trip out to the eagles nest! I'm getting anxious as you are to see if the eagles has returned to the nest! I don't think I will ever get tired of going out to the eagles nest watching the eagles reconstruct their nest, and get it ready for another nesting season! If they return this year it will be their seventh year at this nest! This year will be my fifth year to photograph them. I use a digital canon rebel xsi 40d with 12.0 meg pixel, and a 650mm to 1200mm telescope lens.

That time of year again!

I know that I been saying that I'm going to make a trip out to the eagles nest! Well I haven't made it this past Monday would have been a nice day to go but I didn't make it out to the nest to see if the eagles have returned yet! Llano County bald eagles watchers: Welcome to my new blog!

Well it's that time of the year again where the American bald eagles make there way back to the Texas hill country. I'm hoping the eagles will return to their nest in between Buchanan, and Llano County. If they do return this will be their seventh year in this nest. And this will be my fifth year to photograph them as well. I am really getting anxious for the eagles to return! I am planning a trip to the nest with in a couple of days.
